Eyelid Surgery Recovery Time
Eyelid surgery, also known as an eye lift or blepharoplasty, is a popular procedure at Kevin Perman, MD in Bethesda. There are several ways in which to perform the surgery. Your surgeon will explain the surgery method to you. After the procedure, you will need to have someone drive you home. Pain can be controlled with medication although discomfort is usually minimal. Ice can help. Bruising usually peaks in a couple of days. Patients can normally resume activities in one to two weeks.
Complications are rare from eyelid surgery but sometimes occur. They can include:
- Bleeding and infection
- Vision loss
- Dry eyes
- Eyelid skin that does not appear normal or folds in or out abnormally
- Not being able to fully close your eyes
If you’re interested in eye surgery, please consult the staff at Kevin Perman, MD for more information and a consultation.
