Eyelid Tumors (Reconstruction)
Although basal cell carcinoma is the most common malignancy of the eyelid, Dr. Perman has encountered numerous and varied tumors of the eyelid, both benign and malignant. He works closely with specialty pathologists to document the identity of the mass in question, and if malignant, to achieve clear margins.
Once clear margins are established, eyelid reconstruction is performed to achieve the most natural functional result possible. Some reconstructions may require multiple surgeries. Needless to say, surgical treatment and expectations are always discussed in full during the consultation.
