The aging process brings constant and various changes. Your skin is one of the first places to show visible signs of aging. As you age, you can be left with fine lines, wrinkles and a hollowed appearance. Much of these changes are due to loss of collagen, water and elasticity, leading to a loss of volume. Much of the volume loss is from loss of subcutaneous tissue in the form of decreased collagen, fat and hyaluronic acid – the natural fillers of the face.
Dr. Perman enjoys over two decades of experience with facial fillers, and works with many of the leading products to provide you with the best options to address issues of skin care, volume loss and fine wrinkles. He has extensive experience with Juvederm, Restylane and Belotero products, and will customize a plan for your specific needs.
The most frequently used filler injected to replace the volume loss are in the form of non-animal hyaluronic acid. They come in various forms, varying mainly in thickness, as a result, the thicker formulations are better suited for the hollow of the cheeks and mid-face where more support is called for, and the thinner preparations for the more delicate areas, such as fine lines of the lips (smokers or lipstick lines), and around the eyelids.
